[Hungary's Trade Surplus Narrows in September but Still Exceeds Expectations] ⑴ Hungary's trade surplus narrowed to €589 million in September 2025, lower than €886 million in the same period last year, but higher than the market forecast of €557 million. ⑵ The narrowing surplus was due to slower export growth than import growth, with exports increasing by 4.9% year-on-year to €13.124 billion. ⑶ Imports increased by 7.8% year-on-year to €12.535 billion. ⑷ In the first nine months of this year, the country's trade surplus expanded to €7.78 billion, higher than €7.079 billion in the same period last year.
