[Vietnamese Rice Prices Plunge to Two-Month Low, Thai Rice Stops 18-Year Low] ⑴ The Vietnam Food Association quoted prices on Thursday, with 5% broken rice falling to $415-430/ton, the lowest since August 21, due to weak demand and poor quality of the new season. ⑵ Indian 5% broken parboiled rice remained flat at $344-350/ton, while white rice was quoted at $350-360/ton. Heavy rains in the east may damage yields, but export demand remains weak. ⑶ Thai 5% broken rice rose slightly to $340/ton, ending a six-week losing streak and moving away from an 18-year low, but competitors in Pakistan offered even lower prices, and demand has not rebounded significantly.
