[Global Trade Friction Index Remains High in August] This morning, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) held a press conference to release the latest Global Trade Friction Index. Data shows that the global trade friction index remained high in August. Looking at the composite index, the global trade friction index for August was 100, continuing its high level. The value involved in global trade friction measures decreased by 4.3% year-on-year and 15.2% month-on-month. Although the data has declined, it remains at a high level. Looking at the country index, among the 20 countries (regions) monitored, the United States, Brazil, and Japan ranked in the top three in terms of global trade friction index, with the United States having ranked first for the 14th consecutive month in terms of the value involved in global trade friction measures. Looking at the industry index, among the 13 major industries monitored, the points of conflict in trade friction measures are concentrated in the electronics, transportation equipment, pharmaceuticals, machinery and equipment, and light industry sectors, with the electronics industry having the highest trade friction index.
