[Nvidia Reaches Landmark Deal with South Korean Companies] Nvidia (NVDA.O) has reached a landmark agreement to supply its technology to several of South Korea's largest companies as part of its aggressive efforts to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure globally, according to foreign media reports. Under the agreement with South Korea's Ministry of Science and Technology and three companies—Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, and SK Group—Nvidia will provide more than 260,000 accelerator chips to help launch South Korea's AI projects. The US company did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. As part of the agreement, the South Korean government is building what it calls "sovereign AI"—a government-controlled computing infrastructure. It will deploy more than 50,000 of Nvidia's latest AI accelerator chips in data centers, including at the National Artificial Intelligence Computing Center and facilities owned by companies such as Kakao, Naver, and NHN Cloud.
