In the first ten months of this year, the tourism market in all 14 prefectures and cities of Xinjiang showed strong growth, with the number of tourists to Xinjiang increasing by 31.12% year-on-year, ranking first in the country. Urumqi, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, and Kashgar Prefecture accounted for the largest proportion of tourist arrivals. In terms of tourist source structure, those born in the 1980s and 1990s are the main force of tourism consumption. Guangdong, Beijing, Sichuan, Henan, and Shandong are the top five source provinces and municipalities for Xinjiang's tourism. Regarding inbound tourism, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Malaysia ranked in the top three in terms of both tourist arrivals and spending, with Southeast Asian and Central Asian countries becoming important source markets for Xinjiang's inbound tourism.
