[German Retail Sales Rise Slightly by 0.2% Month-on-Month in September] ⑴ German retail sales rose 0.2% month-on-month in September, in line with market expectations, compared to a 0.2% decline in the previous month. ⑵ The year-on-year increase was only 0.2%, far below the market expectation of 1.9% and the previous value of 1.8%. ⑶ Food retail sales rose 0.3% month-on-month and 0.2% year-on-year. ⑷ Non-food retail sales fell 0.6% month-on-month but rose slightly by 0.2% year-on-year. ⑸ Online and mail-order trade performed strongly, rising 0.4% month-on-month and a significant 3.7% year-on-year.
