At a press conference held by the National Energy Administration today (September 31), it was learned that my country's installed capacity of renewable energy continued to expand and its energy structure continued to optimize in the first three quarters. The latest data shows that in the first three quarters, the newly installed capacity of renewable energy nationwide reached 310 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 47.7%, accounting for approximately 84.4% of the total new installed capacity. Among them, hydropower added 7.16 million kilowatts, wind power added 61.09 million kilowatts, solar power added 240 million kilowatts, and biomass power added 1.05 million kilowatts. As of the end of September, the national installed capacity of renewable energy reached 2.198 billion kilowatts. Meanwhile, renewable energy power generation steadily increased. In the first three quarters, national renewable energy power generation reached 2.89 trillion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%, accounting for about 40% of total power generation and about 60% of industrial electricity consumption during the same period. Among them, wind power and solar power generation combined reached 1.73 trillion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 22% of total electricity consumption, an increase of 4.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
