[Norway's Unemployment Hits Four-Year High] ⑴ The seasonally adjusted number of unemployed in Norway rose to 64,700 in October 2025, the highest level since October 2021. ⑵ The unemployment rate remained at 2.2%, with the tourism and transportation sectors having the highest rates at 3%. ⑶ The academic professions had the lowest unemployment rate at 0.8%, while Oslo and Österford had the highest at 2.8%. ⑷ Troms had the lowest unemployment rate at 1.2%, with robust labor demand. ⑸ 31,200 job openings were made in October, equivalent to 1,900 jobs per working day. ⑹ Job openings decreased by 7% year-on-year, with strong demand in the healthcare, retail, and service sectors. ⑺ The unadjusted number of completely unemployed decreased from 62,000 in September to 61,300 in October.
