[Thailand's Retail Sales Turn Down Year-on-Year in August] ⑴ Thailand's retail sales in August 2025 fell 5.6% year-on-year, a significant decline from the previously revised 7.7% growth. ⑵ This is the first year-on-year decline since March 2024, with non-durable goods sales growth slowing to 1.1%. ⑶ Sales of motor vehicles and fuels fell 4.7%, while other retail categories saw a sharp drop of 13%. ⑷ The decline in durable goods sales narrowed to 1.5%, and seasonally adjusted retail activity fell 5.2% month-on-month in August. ⑸ This represents a narrowing of the previous 12.2% decline.
