[Italy's October Inflation Unexpectedly Falls to a One-Year Low] ⑴ Italy's annual inflation rate fell to 1.2% in October, the lowest level in a year. ⑵ This is a significant drop from September's 1.6% and well below market expectations of 1.6%. ⑶ Regulated energy prices fell 0.8% year-on-year, a sharp reversal from the previous value of 13.9%. ⑷ Fresh food inflation slowed to 1.9%, and transportation services inflation fell to 2.0%. ⑸ The growth rate of entertainment services prices accelerated to 3.3%, while the core inflation rate remained unchanged at 2.0%. ⑹ Seasonally adjusted, consumer prices fell 0.3% month-on-month in October, marking the second consecutive month of decline.
