[Deloitte: Artificial Intelligence is Both Disruptive and a Turning Point for the Entertainment Industry] Deloitte's US partner, Danny Ledger, stated that artificial intelligence (AI) is both disruptive and a turning point for the entertainment industry. He added that while human imagination will remain central to Hollywood storytelling, AI is helping studios operate more intelligently and efficiently. In September, OpenAI invested in and produced an AI-powered animated feature film called *Critterz*, with a budget of less than $30 million, far below the average cost of an animated film, highlighting the economic benefits of using this new technology in production. However, Ledger points out that the real opportunity lies not only in cost reduction. "It enables smarter, more connected production through cloud workflows, a robust data strategy, and intelligent agents, thereby planning and managing creative projects more efficiently." Ledger also stated that the next generation of AI brings new challenges regarding creative ownership, copyright, and intellectual property protection.
