[German 10-year bond yields fell less than 8 basis points in October due to month-end factors] On Friday (October 31), the yield on 10-year German government bonds fell 1.0 basis point to 2.633% in late European trading, up 0.7 basis points for the week and down 7.7 basis points for October. The yield remained stable around 2.7% from October 1-7, then fell to a low of 2.523% from October 7-17, before gradually recovering on October 17 and for the remainder of the month. The yield on 2-year German bonds fell 1.8 basis points to 1.968%, roughly unchanged for the week and down 5.1 basis points for October, having fallen to 1.852% on October 17. The yield on 30-year German bonds rose 1.3 basis points to 3.211%, down 6.9 basis points for October. The spread between the 2-year and 10-year German bond yields rose 0.721 basis points to +66.275 basis points, after falling 2.731 basis points in October.
