[Liao Min Meets with Michael Elam, Deputy Permanent Under-Secretary of State of the Cabinet Office] On October 29, 2025, Liao Min, Vice Minister of Finance, met with Michael Elam, Deputy Permanent Under-Secretary of State of the Cabinet Office of the United Kingdom, in Beijing. They exchanged in-depth views on cooperation between China and the UK within the G20 financial channel and under the framework of the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue. Liao Min stated that China attaches great importance to developing relations with the UK and is willing to strengthen cooperation with the UK based on the principles of mutual respect and mutual benefit, implement the outcomes of the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, and promote the healthy and stable development of China-UK economic relations. China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with the UK within the G20 framework to prepare for the upcoming G20 Johannesburg Leaders' Summit. Elam stated that the UK is willing to develop a long-term, stable, and pragmatic bilateral relationship with China, strengthen multilateral and bilateral communication and coordination within the G20 and other frameworks, and jointly address global challenges.
