[Poland's Manufacturing Sector Shows Signs of Stabilization] ⑴ Poland's manufacturing PMI rose to 48.8 in October, continuing its improvement from 48.0 in September and reaching its highest level since April, but still remaining in contraction territory. ⑵ The declines in both output and new orders narrowed, with output declining at its slowest pace since May, and the contraction in new orders continuing to ease. ⑶ Input purchases expanded for the first time since April, ending a five-month decline, mainly driven by anticipated output growth and restocking demand. ⑷ Job losses continued, and the pace of layoffs accelerated compared to September. ⑸ Export sales continued to decline, but the decline was the smallest in six months, with weak demand in Western Europe remaining the main constraint. ⑹ Lower input costs provided a boost, but competitive pressure led to the largest drop in factory gate prices since November 2024. ⑺ Business optimism rose to a seven-month high, with 39% of surveyed companies expecting output growth in the coming year, driven primarily by capital investment plans and new product launches.
