[Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO: Reduced Russian Gas Supply is a Major Cause of Germany's Deindustrialization] Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Special Representative of the Russian President for Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation, commented on a survey by the German Institute for Economic Research, stating that reduced Russian gas supplies to Germany are a key factor contributing to Germany's deindustrialization. The survey by the German Institute for Economic Research indicates that by 2026, approximately half (41%) of German industrial companies plan to lay off workers, while only 15% plan to increase employment. Dmitriev wrote on his social media account X: "The reduction in low-priced Russian gas supplies is a key factor causing Germany's ongoing deindustrialization."
