[Tesla's European Sales Plunge Again, Maintaining a Sluggish Trend] Tesla's sales have plummeted in several European markets this year. The most significant drop so far has been in Sweden. According to data from the country's Association of Automobile Manufacturers, only 133 new Tesla vehicles were registered last month, a year-on-year plunge of 89%. In Norway and the Netherlands, sales have roughly halved; in Spain, sales have fallen by nearly a third. France is an exception, with Tesla's new car registrations in October increasing by 2.4% year-on-year. However, this growth is based on an extremely low base; in October 2024, sales declined by 47% year-on-year. In the first 10 months of this year, Tesla's cumulative registrations in France decreased by 30% year-on-year. Tesla's global sales hit a record high in the third quarter, mainly due to a rush of purchases by US consumers before the electric vehicle tax credit expired on September 30. In Europe, however, Tesla's sales have been sluggish for several consecutive quarters due to an aging product line and controversy surrounding Musk's political stance (including his role in the Trump administration).
