[US Government Shutdown Continues, Employees Without Pay, Flights Cut at 40 Airports] On November 6th, local time, the US federal government shutdown entered its 37th day. While the shutdown's duration is record-breaking, its ripple effects continue to unfold. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that it will begin gradually reducing flight volume by 10% at 40 major airports nationwide starting November 7th. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of federal employees are facing increased financial pressure due to prolonged unpaid work. The flight cuts cover key aviation hubs such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta, affecting some of the busiest airports in the US, with some major cities experiencing multiple airports affected simultaneously. FAA Administrator Bedford notified airlines to begin reducing flight volume by 4% starting November 7th, gradually increasing to 10% starting next week. United Airlines stated it will pre-cancel approximately 200 flights starting November 7th, primarily regional flights. (CCTV)
