[Seychelles Inflation Rate Drops to Nearly Two-Year Low in December] ⑴ Seychelles' annual inflation rate fell to 0.22% in December 2025, compared to a slight increase of 0.02% in the previous month. ⑵ This is the first contraction in consumer prices in nine months and the lowest reading since February 2024. ⑶ Fish prices fell sharply by 6.72%, and other food prices fell by 0.95%, leading to a decrease in the inflation rate. ⑷ Non-food product prices fell by 0.01%, a slower decline than the previous month. ⑸ Among non-food items, the price increase for miscellaneous goods and services slowed to 1.14%. ⑹ In addition, clothing and footwear prices fell by 0.61%, and entertainment and cultural prices fell by 5.45%. ⑺ Meanwhile, alcoholic beverage prices rose by 4.35%, transportation prices rose by 2.28%, and medical prices rose by 1.62%. ⑻ The decline in furniture and household equipment prices slowed to 1.38%, and the decline in housing and utilities prices slowed to 2.24%. (9) On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.09% in December, a slowdown from the 0.24% increase in the previous month.
