[Venezuela's Floating Oil Inventories Hit Three-Year High] ⑴ Following the US detention of Maduro and its declaration of control over the country's energy resources, Venezuela's floating crude oil inventories at sea rose to over 29 million barrels, a more than three-year high, an increase of approximately 9 million barrels since the beginning of the week. ⑵ Kpler data shows that the increase was mainly concentrated in Asian waters, and the final destination of Venezuelan oil en route or in floating storage is unknown. ⑶ US Energy Secretary Wright stated that the goal is to cut off illicit oil trade with Iran and Russia.
