[Romania's Q3 GDP Growth Revised Upward] ⑴ Romania's GDP grew by 1.7% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, slightly higher than the previously announced second estimate of 1.6%, and faster than the 0.3% growth in the first three months. ⑵ This is the fastest economic expansion since the third quarter of 2024, mainly driven by a 5.0% increase in gross fixed capital formation and a 1.4% increase in household consumption. ⑶ Net external demand also made a positive contribution, with exports growing by 5.3%, while imports grew more slowly at 3.1%. ⑷ In contrast, government spending declined by 3.9%. ⑸ On the production side, the strongest growth sectors were agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, growing by 9.2%; information and communication grew by 6.1%; and construction grew by 12.2%. ⑹ Seasonally adjusted quarterly data showed that the economy contracted by 0.2% quarter-on-quarter, the first decline since the second quarter of 2024, reversing the upwardly revised 1.1% growth in the previous month.
