[Royal Bank of Canada Successfully Issues Swiss Franc Bonds; Demand Remains Robust, Spread Reflects Premium Credit] ⑴ Royal Bank of Canada successfully issued CHF 150 million of 7-year (including issuer's call option at the end of 6 years) senior unsecured bonds. ⑵ The final pricing of the bonds was the benchmark SARON medium-term swap rate plus 70 basis points, with a coupon rate of 1.0875%, an issue price of CHF 100, and a yield to maturity of 1.0875%. ⑶ The bonds received a spread of 92 basis points over the Swiss government bond yield, demonstrating investors' recognition of the issuer's high creditworthiness. ⑷ The issuance was led by UBS and Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited, and the bonds will be listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange. ⑸ As a highly rated Canadian financial institution, its successful issuance of Swiss franc bonds reflects international investor demand for high-quality bank credit bonds and also provides a reference for other non-Swiss issuers entering the Swiss franc debt market.
