[US Aircraft Carrier USS Gerald R. Ford Departs Crete, Greece] On February 26 local time, the US Navy's largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, departed Crete, Greece, continuing its journey to the Middle East. The White House had previously ordered the deployment of a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East. The USS Ford and its escort ships were dispatched from the Caribbean to the Middle East to join the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group in the Persian Gulf, forming a dual-carrier strike group in the Middle East again after nearly a year. It is reported that the USS Ford is plagued by a fundamental problem: nearly 90% of its approximately 650 toilets are out of service, with only a few usable. More than 4,600 sailors are queuing for toilets, sometimes for more than 45 minutes. (CCTV)
