[Livestock Industry Sees Comprehensive Growth; Kazakhstan's Meat Production Exceeds 900,000 Tons in First Half of Year] ⑴ Kazakhstan's meat production reached 938,000 tons (live weight) in the first half of this year, an increase of approximately 5% year-on-year. The output after slaughter was approximately 559,000 tons, an increase of nearly 5.5%, indicating a steady expansion of the livestock industry as a whole. ⑵ Milk production reached 1.89 million tons in the same period, an increase of approximately 2.4% year-on-year. Egg production increased to 2.38 billion eggs, an increase of nearly 8%, and hatching egg production nearly doubled to 89.4 million eggs, showing simultaneous improvement across all links of the livestock industry chain. ⑶ As of early July, the national cattle inventory was 9.34 million head, an increase of nearly 6% compared to the same period last year; the sheep herd size increased to 22.35 million head, an increase of approximately 4%; and the horse population exceeded 5.05 million, an increase of over 7%, further strengthening the livestock base. ⑷ Previous reports indicated that Kazakhstani producers were preparing to export halal meat to Turkey. With increased domestic production capacity and expanded inventory, the export potential of its livestock products is expected to be further released. Further progress in international market development should be monitored.
