[Malaysian Biodiesel Association: Consumption Expected to Reach 1.4 Million Tons This Year, Storage Tanks Need to Be Upgraded to Support Higher Blending] (1) Tee Lip Teng, president of the Malaysian Biodiesel Association, said that as the world's second-largest palm oil producer, Malaysia's biodiesel consumption is expected to reach 1.4 million tons this year, up from 1 million tons last year. (2) Speaking on the sidelines of a biofuels conference in Bali on Friday, he said that the country is implementing a B10 to B20 blending program in the transportation sector, while the industrial sector is implementing the B7 standard. (3) He said that Malaysia needs to upgrade its storage tank facilities to support higher proportions of biodiesel blending.
