[Germany May Provide Ukraine with Only 10 Old Patriot Interceptors, Ukrainian Air Defense Situation Worrying] (1) According to a report by the Clash Report website citing a U.S. State Department document, Germany may transfer 10 old Patriot air defense missile interceptors to Kyiv. (2) Previously, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the transfer of a batch of PAC-2 missiles for the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine. (3) The report states that Germany may only provide Ukraine with 10 Patriot interceptors from its stockpile. These are the older and less efficient MIM-104E GEM-T (PAC-2 type), rather than the anti-ballistic missile PAC-3. (4) Ukrainian President Zelensky recently admitted that the Ukrainian army is unable to intercept ballistic missiles due to a shortage of air defense missiles.
