[Hot News Recap: Multiple Bomb Threats Disrupt Flights and Cruise Ships in Europe, No Explosive Devices Found] 1. On Tuesday, at least seven flights and one cruise ship in Europe received bomb threats. Although no explosive devices were found, airport and shipping operations were disrupted. Affected flights included two to Warsaw, two to Sofia, two to Rome, and one to Murcia, Spain; another flight to Sofia had also received a threat the previous day. 2. One airport in Warsaw was temporarily closed. A LOT Polish Airlines flight from London to Warsaw was diverted to Modlin Airport, and after a search, no explosives were found. The airport reopened. A Scandinavian Airlines flight from Copenhagen to Warsaw landed normally at Chopin Airport, which reported normal operations. Bulgarian authorities stated that Witz Airlines and Ryanair flights from Milan/Bergamo and Dublin to Sofia landed safely, carrying 176 and 186 people respectively, and no explosive devices were found. 3. In Murcia, Spain, a Ryanair flight departing from Manchester received a threat, leading to a partial lockdown of the airport. The threat was later confirmed to be a hoax, and operations resumed. Rome's Fiumicino Airport also searched two other Ryanair flights, including one from Dublin escorted by the Italian Air Force. The alert was subsequently lifted. 4. The Panamanian-flagged cruise ship "Crown Iris," bound for Israel, was searched off the Greek island of Syros. Initial checks found no explosive devices, and coast guard experts will conduct further inspections before allowing it to resume operation. 5. Aviation risk consultancy Osprey Flight Solutions stated that seven confirmed bomb threats affecting flights in a single day are rare, and the lack of a clear target for any particular country, airline, or route suggests the aim may be to cause widespread disruption to air operations. No party has claimed responsibility; European officials have previously accused Russia and Iran of carrying out "hybrid attacks" and sabotage, which Moscow and Tehran have denied.
