[Sweden's October Services PMI Falls to 55.7, a Three-Month Low] ⑴ Sweden's October services PMI fell to 55.7 from a revised 57.3 in September, a three-month low, but still above the average for the first ten months of the year for the third consecutive month. ⑵ The slowdown was broad, with new orders (56.1, up from 58.8 in September) and supplier delivery times (57.0, up from 61.7 in September) leading the declines. The business activity index slightly decreased from 57.5 to 57.1. ⑶ In contrast, the employment sub-index rose for the second consecutive month, from 50.3 to 51.9. ⑷ Cost pressures remained high, with the supplier input price index falling from 73.2 to 71.7, but still well above the historical average of 58.5. ⑸ Meanwhile, the composite PMI fell from 57.7 to 57.0. ⑹ Jörgen Kennemar, who is responsible for PMI analysis, said that private sector growth remained broad, with strong industrial growth offsetting the weakness in the services sector.
