[Trump Says He Doesn't Regret Launching the Iran War] US President Donald Trump said on the evening of March 3 that the war with Iran "had some impact" on the Republican Party's performance in the US midterm elections, but he did not regret launching the war. In a telephone interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump acknowledged that the war with Iran did indeed affect the Republican Party's performance in the midterm elections to some extent and dragged down his approval rating, but he did not regret it, saying, "(If I could do it again) I would still do it." Trump stated that rising oil prices were the biggest political burden. He also expressed support for Defense Secretary Hergsays, saying, "I think he's excellent." According to US media predictions, the Democratic Party will not only gain control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections but will also gain at least 51 of the 100 seats in the Senate, regaining control of the Senate.
