Qatar is projected to become the largest purchaser of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 2033. Qatar Energy added 7 million tons of U.S. LNG to its purchases in October. The company holds a 70% stake in the Golden Gate project in Texas, which will allow it to control 23.7 million tons of U.S. LNG annually by 2033. As a major global LNG exporter, Qatar has been actively pursuing a global energy strategy in recent years. This increased involvement in U.S. LNG projects not only enriches its gas supply portfolio and optimizes the flexibility of its global supply scheduling, but also reflects the deepening trend of cross-regional trade cooperation in the global LNG market. The long-term partnership between supply and demand sides provides greater support for the stable operation of the global energy market.
