[UOB Raises Indonesia's 2026 GDP Growth Forecast to 5.4%] ⑴ UOB economist Enrico Tanuwijaya stated in a research report on Thursday that, boosted by stronger-than-expected economic growth in the third quarter, the bank has raised its 2026 GDP growth forecast for Indonesia from 5.2% to 5.4%. ⑵ Considering increased uncertainty and a more cautious outlook for domestic demand, the bank maintains its 2027 growth forecast at 5.3%. ⑶ Indonesia's year-on-year growth is expected to fall to 5.2% in the fourth quarter, lower than the 5.47% in the third quarter. ⑷ The report points out that household consumption remains weak compared to pre-pandemic levels; the recent economic strength is partly due to government spending and resilient investment. ⑸ Key risks include: slower growth among major trading partners, uncertainty in global trade policies, and low prices for Indonesia's core export commodities.
