[Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Strengthening Network Access Management of Smart Agent Terminal Equipment] The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued a notice on strengthening network access management of smart agent terminal equipment. The notice mentions improvements to the management of smart agent terminal network access. Risk assessments will be conducted, the network access testing mechanism for telecommunications equipment will be improved, and requirements for special provisions will be refined. Smart agent terminals such as mobile phones, tablets, and wearable devices with pre-installed smart agents must undergo smart agent compatibility verification according to relevant standards during network access testing; security assessments of fraud risks and pre-emptive anti-fraud capabilities of smart agent terminals will be conducted in accordance with the law, and requirements for important communication work will be implemented. Smart agents used on terminals should be equipped with unique identification codes in accordance with the national standards for smart agent interconnection. Terminal manufacturers must ensure the consistency of smart agent terminals before and after obtaining a network access license. If there are significant changes to a smart agent terminal, the terminal manufacturer must report to the MIIT and conduct network access testing as required. (MIIT)
