Analyst: US-EU trade deal effectively weakens UK's potential advantage. Beth McCall, an international trade lawyer at Dentons, said the final US-EU agreement has already weakened the UK's potential advantage. She stated, "If the US does impose a 30% tariff on the EU, it will create a significant price differential compared to the UK's 10% rate." She believes that while the current 5% tariff difference (15% for the EU, 10% for the UK) still makes the UK competitive, the impact will only become apparent after existing contracts expire, when US importers gradually shift their sourcing to lower-tariff countries.
