According to a person familiar with the matter, Lutnick told South Korean trade advisers during the Scottish meeting that they needed to "go all out" when presenting the final trade proposal to President Trump. Lutnick told the South Korean team that the president still needs to be convinced why he wants to reach a new agreement with South Korea because he has already reached trade agreements with a series of major partners such as the European Union, Japan and the United Kingdom. Lutnick confirmed in an interview with Fox News on Monday that he and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer met with members of the South Korean team in Scotland when Trump was working to reach a trade deal with the European Union, but Lutnick did not disclose further details.
