[National Immigration Administration: Expanding Pilot Cities for "Fully Online Application" for Renewal and Reissue of Entry-Exit Documents] On July 30th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference themed "High-Quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan," highlighting the achievements of China's immigration management during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and answering questions from reporters. Xiong Shuren, Director of the Exit and Entry Administration's Department of Citizenship and Entry Management, explained at the press conference that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the National Immigration Administration has continuously improved the convenience of applying for entry-exit documents. Building on the continuous optimization of the "one-stop" and "nationwide" application process for entry-exit documents, the National Immigration Administration will pilot a "full online application" policy for some entry-exit documents in 20 cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, starting in May 2024. Eligible applicants can apply for renewal or reissue of their entry-exit documents online, eliminating the need for a single trip to the government. Going forward, the National Immigration Administration will continue to expand the pilot cities for the "full online application" policy, further unleashing the benefits of this policy and further facilitating Chinese citizens' global expansion.
