The National Marine Forecasting Center reported that as of 11:00 AM, live monitoring results showed that tsunami waves of 90 cm were detected by tsunami buoys near the earthquake source. Tsunami waves of 30 to 50 cm were observed off the coasts of Japan and Russia, respectively. The tsunami is expected to reach the coast of Taiwan at 1:30 PM and the coastal waters of Zhejiang and Shanghai between 5 and 8 PM. The maximum amplitudes predicted for eastern Taiwan, northern Zhejiang, and Shanghai are 60 cm, 40 cm, and 30 cm, respectively.
