Jiangsu issues a Level III Yellow Sea Wave Alert, with winds exceeding Force 8 expected in several areas. This morning (the 30th), the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Natural Resources issued a Level III Yellow Sea Wave Alert for Jiangsu waters in accordance with the "Jiangsu Province Marine Disaster Emergency Plan." Under the influence of this year's eighth typhoon, "Hypokora" (tropical storm level), large to huge waves of 3 to 5 meters are expected in the waters off southern Jiangsu and 3 to 4 meters off northern Jiangsu during the day and into the evening. The coastal waters of Nantong are expected to see large to huge waves of 3 to 4.4 meters; the coastal waters of Yancheng are expected to see strong waves of 2.5 to 3.5 meters; and the coastal waters of Lianyungang are expected to see moderate to heavy waves of 2 to 3 meters. According to the latest report from the Jiangsu Meteorological Department, from 9:00 to 10:00 today, 68 stations in five cities in Jiangsu, including Nantong, Suzhou, and Yancheng, recorded maximum wind speeds of 8 or above. The top three onshore gales were recorded at the Nantong Tongzhou Bay Branch with a speed of 26.3m/s (Force 10), the Rudong Zhuzhen Seawall with a speed of 24.8m/s (Force 10), and the Nantong Tongzhou Bay Sanjiasha with a speed of 24.4m/s (Force 9). The strongest offshore wind was recorded at a speed of 27.2m/s (Force 10) 22 kilometers east of Changsha Town, Rudong, Nantong (CCTV News).
