[Multiple Whales Stranded on Japanese Coast] According to reports from the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and other media outlets, four whales were found stranded on the coast of Hirasaura, Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, today (July 30). Witnesses reported that the stranded whales were discovered around 5:00 a.m. local time (4:00 a.m. Beijing time). Chiba Prefecture was one of the areas affected by the tsunami. However, local police and other sources stated that the whales were stranded yesterday (July 29) and were not related to the tsunami. (CCTV International News)
