Before the Federal Reserve released its interest rate decision statement, the US dollar index rose 0.56% to 99.439 points. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield narrowed to less than 2.8 basis points at 4.3481%. The two-year U.S. Treasury yield rose 1.6 basis points, falling below 3.89%. Spot gold fell 0.76% to $3,301. The S&P 500 rose 0.23%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was roughly flat, the Nasdaq rose 0.43%, the Biotechnology Index rose 1%, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 1.2%, the Bank Index rose 0.5%, and the Russell 2000 Index rose 0.9%.
