Ukraine Arrests Air Force Spy Involved in Planning F-16 Attack: Ukraine's National Security Service (SB) announced on social media on July 30 that it had arrested a spy who was collecting and transmitting military intelligence intended to aid Russia in launching airstrikes against Ukrainian F-16 and Mirage-2000 fighter jets. The SB said its counter-espionage unit, with the assistance of Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, arrested the spy. The spy, a major flight instructor in the Ukrainian Air Force, is currently undergoing a pre-trial investigation by the SB. Preliminary Ukrainian investigations indicate that the spy was simultaneously carrying out multiple missions assigned by Russia, providing intelligence on Ukrainian F-16, Mirage-2000, and Su-24 fighter jets, as well as information on the airports where these aircraft were stationed. To increase the success rate of the airstrikes, the spy also provided Russia with a tactical report on launching a "hybrid" attack. The spy used anonymous emails to contact Russian intelligence officers and transmitted intelligence via encrypted chats.
