The National Weather Service issued heat advisories for several regions across the United States on July 30, affecting over 140 million Americans. The National Weather Service stated that parts of the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast are experiencing persistent high temperatures, with temperatures expected to rise further in the Southeast this weekend. On the 30th, highs are expected to exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32.2 degrees Celsius) in many parts of the country, with some areas experiencing temperatures reaching or exceeding 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43.3 degrees Celsius). On the 29th, temperatures at New York's LaGuardia Airport reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius), breaking the previous record of 97 degrees Fahrenheit set in 1949. Tampa, a coastal city on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida, also recently broke its local high temperature record with a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Meteorologists warn that extreme heat can easily lead to health problems and recommend that people drink plenty of water and stay in cooler rooms. (CCTV)
