The Japan Meteorological Agency announced the lifting of tsunami warnings for all areas on the Pacific side of Japan. On the 30th, an 8.7 magnitude earthquake struck the waters east of the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East, triggering a tsunami. As of the 31st, aftershocks continued to occur. Affected by the earthquake, the Japan Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for a large area from Hokkaido to Wakayama on the 30th, and the tsunami subsequently reached various parts of Japan. On the evening of the 30th, the Japan Meteorological Agency downgraded all tsunami warnings to tsunami precautions.
