[Analyst: US Dollar Short Positions Face a Severe Test] ⑴ Following the Federal Reserve's interest rate meeting, the US dollar index faced a critical test, putting $18 billion of long EUR/USD positions under significant pressure. The pair had already fallen from 1.1775 before the meeting to 1.1401. ⑵ The current EUR/USD low of 1.1405 hits the daily cloud support level. A break below this support level could trigger significant short-covering. After breaking below the cloud in October last year, the pair plummeted from 1.0950 to this year's low of 1.0125. ⑶ The current size of Euro long positions far exceeds the level seen during last year's breakout.
