Xia Linmao, member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor, outlined the overall rainfall situation. Beijing has received 539.3 mm of rainfall so far this year, 67% above the same period last year. Since June 1st, the cumulative rainfall has reached 432.7 mm, a 75% increase over the same period. This round of heavy rainfall was primarily concentrated in the northern mountainous areas, with average rainfall of 366.6 mm in Miyun District, 347.9 mm in Pinggu District, and 230 mm in Huairou District. Extremely severe convective weather was extremely rare during this period, with several localized areas receiving over 500 mm of precipitation.
