Thailand's retail sales growth slowed to 26.1% in May. (1) Thailand's retail sales grew 26.1% year-on-year in May, a significant slowdown from 41.9% in April. Non-durable goods sales growth slowed to 1.7% (from 3.8% in the previous month), while other goods sales growth slowed to 57.1% (from 89.3% in the previous month). (2) Durable goods sales fell 2.1% (from a 0.6% increase in the previous month), while auto and fuel sales fell 1.2% (from a 0.7% increase in the previous month). Department store sales increased 21.7% (from a 14% increase in the previous month). Month-on-month, retail sales in May fell 11.7%, reversing the 19.3% increase in April.
