[Facing Headwinds: Global Air Cargo Demand Grew Slightly in June: Where Does Resilience Amid Trade Disruptions Exist?] ⑴ The latest data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) shows that despite trade disruptions, global air cargo demand still achieved a year-on-year growth of 0.8% in June 2025. ⑵ This growth was even more pronounced in the international sector, reaching 1.6%. ⑶ Capacity, measured in available freight tonne-kilometers (ACTKs), increased by 1.7% year-on-year in June. ⑷ Capacity growth in the international sector was even stronger, reaching 2.8%. ⑸ Total demand, measured in freight tonne-kilometers (CTKs), also showed a 0.8% increase in June compared to June 2024 levels. ⑹ Demand growth in the international sector was 1.6%. ⑺ These data demonstrate a degree of resilience in the air cargo market amidst challenges facing global trade. ⑻ The slight increase in capacity, in line with demand, reflects the industry's ability to adjust to external uncertainties. ⑼ Although modest, this positive growth is noteworthy in the current complex trade environment.
