[Tariff risks loom over the economy, Pimco favors short- to medium-term European bonds] Pimco said European bonds offer an attractive hedge against tariff and trade policy uncertainty that could cause the European economy to stagnate in the second half of the year. Economist Nicola Mai and portfolio manager Konstantin Veit wrote in a report that the bond giant, which manages more than $2 trillion in assets, favors short- to medium-term bonds because they offer lower interest rates.
