On Saturday, Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway announced that its second-quarter operating profit fell 4% year-on-year to $11.16 billion. The company once again issued a stern warning about US President Trump's tariffs and their potential impact on its various businesses. In its earnings report, it said that "the pace of change in these events, including tensions in international trade policies and tariffs, accelerated in the first six months of 2025, and the ultimate outcome of these events remains considerable uncertainty." It also said that "it is reasonable to say that most, if not all, of our operating businesses and equity securities investments may be adversely affected, which may materially affect our future performance."
