UK trade deficit widens to £5.26 billion in July, hitting a five-month high. (2) Exports rose 2.3% month-over-month to £76.45 billion, while imports increased 2.4% to £81.71 billion (a record high). (3) Goods exports grew 6.6%, with exports to the EU increasing 4.6% (primarily due to increased aircraft exports to Germany). (4) Exports to non-EU countries grew 8.5%, with machinery and transport equipment leading the charge. (5) Goods exports (including precious metals) to the US increased by £0.8 billion month-over-month, but remained below pre-tariff levels. (6) Services exports fell 0.4% to £45.83 billion (a three-month low). (7) Goods imports rose 3.9% to £50.89 billion (a 13-month high), primarily due to increased imports of ships from South Korea and aircraft and cars from Germany. ⑻ Service imports fell slightly by 0.1% to 28.84 billion pounds.
