Belgium's trade surplus narrowed significantly to €2.15 billion in July. (1) Belgium's trade surplus narrowed to €2.15 billion in July 2025, significantly lower than the €4.34 billion in the same period last year, primarily due to a larger decline in exports than imports. (2) Exports fell 8.7% year-on-year to €41.62 billion, with exports to EU countries down 7.7% and exports to non-EU countries down 10.8%. (3) Imports fell 4.4% year-on-year to €39.48 billion, with purchases from EU countries down 8.8% and imports from non-EU countries up 2.3%. (4) The cumulative trade surplus for the first seven months of 2025 was €12.73 billion, down from €14.38 billion in the same period last year.
