[Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit Issues Joint Statement Condemning Israeli Attack on Qatar] On September 15th, local time, the one-day Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit issued a joint statement strongly condemning Israel's aggressive attack on Qatar. The summit, chaired by Qatar's Emir (Head of State), Tamim bin Hamid Al-Thani, was attended by heads of state and government or representatives from member states of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Discussions focused on the Israeli attack on Qatar. On the 9th of this month, Israel announced a "precision strike" against the leadership of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Doha. Hamas stated that the airstrike occurred while its negotiating delegation was discussing a new ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip proposed by the United States. The airstrike killed five Palestinians and one Qatari security force member.
